1) They are idealism, realism, pragmatism (sometimes called experientialism), and existentialism. Each will be explained shortly. These four general frameworks provide the root or base from which the various educational philosophies are derived.

2) The two types of linguistic meanings;

Syntax, the study of how words combine to form grammatical phrases and sentences.

Semantics, the study of lexical and grammatical aspects of meaning.

3) A language is a structured system of communication used by humans, based on speech and gesture, sign, or often writing.

Philosophy of language refers to the philosophical investigation of the nature of language; the relations between language, language users, and the world; and the concepts with which language is described and analyzed, both in everyday speech and in scientific linguistic studies.

4) The functions of language include communication, the expression of identity, play, imaginative expression, and emotional release.

5) Two main types of word meaning are grammatical and lexical.

6) All definitions have three parts: term being defined, classification, and identifying characteristic.

7) Logic is the means of thinking right. Language is the dress of thought. It is essentially thought that shapes the language or shapes the language. Thoughts must be expressed in language because if we do not express our thoughts in language, we will not be able to analyze them logically.
