College students tend to face a a lot of stress ranging from exams, school fees and personal obligations, which makes them to abuse drugs. The students also face peer pressure influence and the urge to have freedom and experiment new things, including drugs and substance abuse. Male students tend to abuse more drugs than their female counterparts. White students are addicted to some drugs like marijuana than other races. Early exposure to drugs and substances increases chances of drug abuse in colleges. Environmental influences can also cause more cases of drug abuse. To curb drug abuse, the youths in colleges need to be educated about their effects. The government should also promote healthy activities such games and sports in schools and colleges.
