Compare and contrast the salient features of Modernism and Postmodernism in detail with appropriate philosophical reason.
Modernism and postmodernism have been in rivalry for a couple of decades. Despite having diverse views, the two forces share a similar course. For instance, they are both cultural trends that include an array of artistic expressions such as painting, literature, music, architecture, and sculpture over a period. Additionally, they are both artistic movements longing for transformation within the technological era. Contrarily, differences exist between the two concepts in the period, line of thinking, and work originality. First, modernism thrived from the 1860s to around 1945, while postmodernism started about 1968. Second, thinking in the modernism era was supported by logic while, postmodernism had an unscientific and irrational approach to thinking. Also, the originality of work had a lot of focus during modernism, unlike postmodernism that exhibited little attention to work.
