we have  $3x + 2 <   = 5^{*}(x - 1)$ $3x + 2 <   = 5x - 5$
$2 + 5 <   = 5x - 3x$
$7 <   = 2x$
$3.5 <   = x$

2a. $|2y + 5| > 1$

so $2y + 5 > 1$ or $2y + 5 < - 1$

so $2y > -4$ or $2y < -6$

we get $y > -2$ or $y < - 3$
