Compute the position of the pth percentile (index ii ):


i=p100×n=80100×50=40i=\dfrac{p}{100}\times n=\dfrac{80}{100}\times50=40

The index ii  is an integer ⇒ the 80th percentile is the average of the values in the 40th and 41th positions (9.7 and 10.2 respectively)

Answer: the 80th percentile is (9.7+10.2) / 2 = 9.95
