Question #31890

If you engage in a dangerous sport, where you have a 1 in 10 chance of dying, and you do it 25 times. What are your chances of dying?

Expert's answer

Having 1 in 10 chance of dying means that 1/10=0.1 of all cases is
supposed death. So out of 25 cases we have 25*0.1=2.5 cases of supposed
death. Chances of dying don't vary with number of trials, they are still
1 to 10. Which is in single trial you have 0.1 (or 10%) probability of dying.
