Events A and B are independent if

P(AB)=P(A)×P(B)P(A\cap B)=P(A)\times P(B)

If A and B are not independent then they are dependent.

In this case:

P(A)= 2.0

P(B)=4.0

and P(ABA\cap B )= 0.6

Now, applying condition

P(A)×P(B)\times P(B) = 2.0×\times 4.0= 8.0 which is not equal to P(AB)P(A\cap B)

So, Events A and B are dependent events.
