T1×Ln=Tn,T_1\times L^n=T_n, time required for the nth unit

where T1=T_1= unit time of the first unit

L=L= learning curve raten

n=n= number of times T is doubled

4.

Hours required for unit 8 =10×(0.9)3=7.29=10\times(0.9)^3=7.29 hours.

5.

Hours required for unit 2 =10×(0.9)1=9=10\times(0.9)^1=9 hours.

1010 hours +9+9 hours=19=19 hours

It takes 19 hours to complete both the first and second units.
