Discuss the application of knowledge of teaching practices (productive pedagogy; situational theory and reflective practice).
Productive Pedagogies are classroom strategies that teachers can use to focus instruction and improve student outcomes. Some strategies are more suited for teaching certain knowledges and skills than others.
According to Situational Teaching, a lesson starts with stress and intonation practice followed by a revision and a presentation of new materials. The teacher then proceeds to practice and drilling of the elements presented.
Reflective teaching involves examining one's underlying beliefs about teaching and learning and one's alignment with actual classroom practice before, during and after a course is taught. When teaching reflectively, instructors think critically about their teaching and look for evidence of effective teaching.
