He has a summer job cutting grass in the neighbourhood, the going rate for cutting grass is $10.50 per hour. Micheal also wants to save 1/2  of his earnings for his own use next year. How many hours will he have to cut grass to pay for his share of the cell phone?

If the price of a cell phone is $1,000, then Michael should accumulate 1,000×0.5 = $500 as a share for buying a cell phone and the same sum of $500 for his own use next year. So, he will have to cut grass for 1,000/10.5=95.241,000/10.5 = 95.24 hours.
