Find the number of vertices of a polyhedron made up of 8 triangles and 6 octagons.

This polyhedron has 24 vertices. Example of such polyhedron is so called truncated cube (see picture). Number of its vertices is equal number of vertices of triangles: $3^{*}8 = 24$ .
