Area of the square = L2

= 8cm x 8cm

= 64 cm2

Step 2.

Area of the circle = πr2

Where r = 8/2

= 4cm

π = 3.14

Therefore;

Area of a circle = 3.14 x 42

= 50.24cm2


Step 3.

Area of the shaded region = Area of the square - Area of the circle

= 64cm2 - 50.24cm2

= 13.24cm2
