Eliminate a & b from az+b=a²x+y

Expert's answer

Given equation is

$az+b=a²x+y$

Differentiating w.r.t. x and y, we get

$ap = a^2$

and $aq = 1 \to a = \large\frac{1}{q}$

and hence $pq = 1$ is the required first order PDE
