Use the information to write an equation of the parabola:

Focus: (-8, 0), Directrix: x = 8

The distance between focus and directrix $p = 16$. Taking to account situation of the focus we see that parabola is directed along negative direction of OX axis so the equation is:

$$y^{2} = -2px = -32x$$
