$$V = x * x * x = x ^ {3}$$ $$S = x * x * 6 = 6 x ^ {2}$$

So if we doubled edge:

$$V = 2 x * 2 x * 2 x = 8 x ^ {3}$$ $$S = 2 x * 2 x * 6 = 24 x ^ {2}$$

Answer: volume increased by 8 times. Surface increased by 4 times.
