He can expect that "300(90\/100)=270" trees he plants will survive the first year.

He can expect that "270(95\/100)=256.5" trees he plants will survive permanently.


Aaron is going to plant 500 trees the following spring.

He can expect that "500(90\/100)=450" trees he plants will survive the first year.

He can expect that "450(95\/100)=427.5" trees he plants will survive permanently.


"256.5+427.5=684"

He expect to have 684 trees in his orchard permanently.
