We have three pencils on the table, other seven pencils are on the floor. Explain to a grade 4 class why pencils on the table are 3/10 of the pencils, not 3/7
We have three pencils on the table, other seven pencils are on the floor.
Explain it for grade 4 class,
so it should be very easy language,
we will teach to them that
"pencils on the table are 3/10 of the pencils, not 3/7"
when you explain this
first of all , show this picture to them
Now you start question to them
(1) how many pencil on the table ?
ans. They will give answer is "three"
now 2nd question
(2) how many total pencil in the image
ans .they will give answer is "ten"
now you ask 3rd question
(3) then how many pencil from the total pencils, on table?
ans.they will say 3 pencils from 10 pencils on the table
after, you say to all students....
yes , and we can write this as a mathematics form is 3/10.
and
you tell them that if we have total pencils are 7. then those case we will write it as 3/7.
but in present case our exact answer is 3/10.
