Let x be quantity of trucks, so 5x will be quantity of cars. The total amount of trucks and cars was x+5x on the one hand, and it was 30 on the other hand. Equate the same amounts and obtain equation 5x+x = 30, collect similar terms, 6x=30, divide both sides by 5, x = 5 So, she saw 5 trucks.
