Answer to Question #150717 in Algebra for Randhir Kapoor

Question #150717
Question: 1.2 Steps are to be placed along XY on the ladder. The steps
need not be spaced equally. However, the gap between any two adjacent
steps cannot be more than 20 cm along XY because it will be difficult to
climb. Also, the gap should be at least 15 cm because if it’s too close,
people could hurt their feet while climbing.
Based on the information given above, what is the maximum number of
steps that can be placed on the ladder along XY below the step at X?

t is not more than 20cm

t is atleast 15cm

therefore;

because, for every step there is varying distance at xy

the gaps are of the range 15 to 20,therefore to get the number of step along xy distance;

x y/15 + x y/16 + xy/17 +xy/18 +xy/19 + xy/20=total number of steps
