For a general equation of a straight line given by : "y=mx+c" the slope is m and the y-intercept is given by c.
The y-intercept is the length of the point on the y-axis from origin where the line cuts the y-axis. It can be calculated by finding distance between the point where the line cuts y-axis and the origin.
The slope of a line is it's inclination towards the x-axis. It can be found using "m=tan \\theta =(y_2-y_1)\/(x_2-x_1)"
with the help of two points on the line.
