The factory has another conveyor​ belt, Conveyor​ 2, which sends the products out of the factory. This conveyor belt descends 14 ft for every 7 ft it runs. Find the slope of each conveyor belt. Which conveyor belt is​ steeper?

1.The slope of Conveyor 1 is "\\tan \\alpha=5\/5=1",

"\\alpha = \\arctan(1) = 45\\degree" .

2.The slope of Conveyor 2 is "\\tan\\beta = -14\/7 =- 2",

"\\beta = \\arctan(-2) \\approx -63.4\\degree".

It means the second conveyor belt is steeper.

You got the second slope wrong.. It should have actually been -2 because it says "descends".
