The factory has another conveyor​ belt, Conveyor​ 2, which sends the products out of the factory. This conveyor belt descends 14 ft for every 7 ft it runs. Find the slope of each conveyor belt. Which conveyor belt is​ steeper?

1.The slope of Conveyor 1 is tanα=5/5=1\tan \alpha=5/5=1,

α=arctan(1)=45°\alpha = \arctan(1) = 45\degree .

2.The slope of Conveyor 2 is tanβ=14/7=2\tan\beta = -14/7 =- 2,

β=arctan(2)63.4°\beta = \arctan(-2) \approx -63.4\degree.

It means the second conveyor belt is steeper.

You got the second slope wrong.. It should have actually been -2 because it says "descends".
