Motivation and productivity in an organisation are close to one another as far as the smooth running of an organization is concerned.
In fayol's 14 principles of management he argues that the remuneration should be sufficient to keep employees motivated and productive. This is by non-monetary:- a compliment, more responsibilities, credits) and monetary:- compensation, bonus or other financial compensation).
Secondly, Create a friendly work environment. try to make the office look as friendly and appealing as possible since your employees spend a large amount of time of their lives working in the office.
Encourage friendly competition:- A competitive environment is a productive environment. Leader should encourage employees to participate in competitions or challenges as it is healthy and it may actually lead to increased productivity.
Create a career path:- This will lead to increased commitment towards their employer. This is when employees have an idea of what is provided or what the incentives are, then they become further motivated.
Be a leader worth following;- be a leader who leads by an example, employees are going to look to you to set an example for the rest of the group. Leaders set a tone and values for the company.
Encourage creativity:- create an environment where employees give their own ideas and views. And take them out for retreats.
Encourage team work:- create an open kind of an environment where there is no bureaucracy and hierarchy within the organisation to new ideas at any level.
