You are Head of International Sales selling GPS connected Helmets for Bikers. You have been asked to expand in Sri Lanka. The company has never operated in Sri Lanka. What would be the Sales process that you will adopt for this expansion?
Since this is a new country that I have not yet worked in my first step would be to do a research on how my business would be affected there. I would check the gap analysis against the local products there and also perform a SWOT analysis against my competitors.
I would also develop a strategy and come up with a business plan considering the economic, cultural and legal factors.
It is also important to come up with short, medium and long term goals, work towards achieving each of them and also have a tactical project plan with commit dates.
Finally, consider the local logistics and distribution network that will be handling my products.
