The responsibilities of line managers include

  • Managing of employees where by they ensure that all employees report on time and are working effectively.
  • Ensuring that each team hits the target by leading them towards the set goals.
  • Coaching and mentoring of the team members to better the quality of their output and learn new skills.
  • Approving of leaves and holidays to the employees.

Pay systems suitable for the sales employees would include

  1. Time rate system whereby the employees get paid based on time i.e. on hourly or weekly basis. In this system, the production of the employees is not considered.
  2. Piece rate system. In this system, workers are paid according to the quantity and quality of their production.
  3. Incentive wage system. This is a combination of both time rate and piece rate system. It is also known as the progressive wage system.
