You are a General Manager in a company ( Hospitality e.g Hotelling). You are required to decide the relevant activities of the following:
1. Social responsibility is a business’s obligation to peruse policies, make decisions and take actions
that benefit society (Norlida et. al, 2018).
Explain any initiative for social responsibilities that suits your company.
2. Organizations with highly motivated staff met their objectives more quickly, resulting to increase
their profits for the long term.
Discuss strategy or reward programs to increase the motivation of your staffs. You may refer to
any theories of motivation learnt in class to support your answer.
Your explanation must be specifically based on what type of business you have chosen.
1. As the general manager for Serenity Villas Hotels, the best suited corporate social responsibility initiative according to me, is cleaning our and improving the landscape of the streets. Although the city council has paid workers to ensure the city is clean, it is not done to perfection. If we could mobilize cleaning on certain days of the week, finance all operations to ensure that our city clean, then this would be a nice gesture to the community around.
2. I would employe the following methods to ensure that my employees are motivated.
a). Congratulating them- if an employee does an excellent job, then I would congratulate him/her to make him feel motivated. For example if a cook is applauded by a customer for doing good, I would recognize him or her for having done good.
b). Paying them on time- this would assure employees that their needs are well taken care of and this would motivate them. For example if I pay them monthly, I would ensure that I would not delay their pay.
c). Including employees in goal setting- this would make employees feel a sense of belonging in the organization and this would increase productivity. For example if I plan to propose and extension, then involving them and listening to their ideas would make them motivated.
