Nikita is a Change Manager with Nelson & Murdock. In the view of the way the business landscape is evolving with more reliance on technology, she intends to bring about many new initiatives which require employees to unlearn certain aspects and learn many new approaches. Many learning theories have been prevalent which organizations use from time to time.
a) Learning is described as the process of acquiring, enriching or changing one's knowledge, skills, beliefs, attitudes, behavior, and world views via the use of a combination of personal and environmental experiences and influences. For faster results, Nikita should choose cognitive psychology as the most significant learning theory. According to the concept, employees are no longer viewed as collections of responses to external stimuli, as behaviorists do, but rather as information processors. Cognitive psychology, unlike behaviorism, will pay attention to complex mental occurrences. The computer's development influenced the hypothesis as an information-processing device that resembled the human mind. In cognitive psychology, learning is the acquisition of knowledge: the learner is an information processor who takes input, processes it cognitively, and stores it in memory. As a result, it will be preferable for employees to acquire specific model behaviors demonstrated by leaders.
b) It is impossible to overestimate the role of reinforcement in the learning process. According to the law of effect, reinforcement is anything that increases the strength of a response while simultaneously encouraging a repeat of the behavior that preceded the reinforcement. Reinforcement can also be defined as a function: reinforcing something if it strengthens and causes the previous response to be repeated. Reinforcement is a method that involves quickly providing or removing a stimulus following behavior to help increase the likelihood that it will occur again. When a pleasurable stimulus is used to encourage desirable behavior, this is known as positive reinforcement. The use of an undesirable stimulus as a form of positive punishment is used to dissuade bad behavior. When a negative stimulus is removed to encourage the desired action, this is known as negative reinforcement.
