Accountability mechanism under transparency, participation, and accountability.

1. Citizen-centered accountability mechanism - this is the mechanism that allows the involvement of citizens in the decision-making process by providing feedback on the products and services they desire and holding them to account. An example is a national election where citizens are responsible for deciding their leaders by voting for them.

2. Transitioning mechanism - this is where the employee role and responsibilities are elaborated and agreed upon from the start of the project. An example is in the public hospitals where every health worker has a clear job responsibility based on the professional. The accountability mechanism is expected to help in controlling corruption and promote integrity in the society and also secure long-term fundings of the project.

Accountability mechanism for new public management( NPM)

1. Performance appraisal - this is the mechanism used to check and measure and individual performance and competence to track the progress of the project. An example is non-profit organizations where the main goal is to achieve the project objects and not gain profit. Projects include HIV treatment and prevention programs

2. Motivation mechanism - the mechanism used to appreciate the best performance in the organization.
