a)     The social, political and economic forces do indeed influence how organizations operate as well as the practice of management. The nationwide lockdown and the government's necessity that hotels not overcrowd are affecting the lemon tree hotel line during this epidemic. Hotels are only legalized to admit a limited number of people, not as previously, to preserve the social distance guideline. The economic factor affecting the Lemon Tree line of hotels during the pandemic is that owing to low client numbers, the benefits of the business have dropped dramatically, and they have had to retrench some staff, resulting in poor service as the number of employees has decreased. The dread that many individuals have of catching the virus has influenced the Lemon tree's social dynamics. Many individuals have avoided visiting hotels because they constantly have a lot of traffic of people coming from different areas, which makes the hotels a hotspot for virus transmission.

 

b)     I would help apply the contingency approach of Modern approach for the lemon Tree to face the pandemic effectively by encouraging the management of the hotel to consider forming a dedicated team responsible for monitoring and managing the possible impact of Covid-19 and reporting to top management. I would encourage them also to make sure that the team has representatives from HR, IT, buying, procurement, security, and legal departments, and is spread across several time zones and locations. Lastly, I would help by pushing them to implement a business continuity strategy, taking into account all applicable legal and regulatory requirements as well as the challenges to effectively prioritizes and handles possibly competing demands.
