The reason why this method is better than the traditional method is because it offers benefits like clearer standards, consistency, better feedback and more accurate gauge in evaluation. The modem approaches of performance appraisal are preferred over the traditional bureaucratic models because they place more emphasis on the evaluation of work results that is job achievements than the personal traits! Modem methods tend to be more objective and worthwhile as compared to traditional bureaucratic models.

Another reason why modern methods are better than traditional models is that traditional models do not tell that how much better or worse one is than another like modern approaches does. In addition, in this new model, the focus is on the present and future of the employee as opposed to the traditional approach, where the focus is on the past performance of the employee.

Newer, high involvement approaches of performance appraisal are preferred over the traditional bureaucratic models by organizations because its performance management is super important, not only because it is the determining factor in an employee’s wage rise and promotion but also because it can evaluate an employee’s skills, strengths, and shortcomings accurately.
