Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari on July 09 said his aim is to construct world-class national highway by 2024. “My aim is to construct 60,000 km of world-class national highways by 2024, at the rate of 40 km per day,” Gadkari said at 16th annual conference on 'Road Development in India'.Building and maintaining roads and bridges is generally the responsibility of state and local governments. Of the 4.1 million miles of road in the U.S., almost 97 percent are under the jurisdiction of state and local governments.The transport and logistics industry is about planning, implementing, and controlling procedures relating to the movement and storage of goods.
