Porter’s Value chain model is a generic model that has been adopted by manufacturing
firms. Considering the above, outline the primary and support activities of
the value chain model.
Inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, marketing and sales, and service are the five key activities in Porter's value chain. Over all of the primary tasks, support activities are depicted in a vertical column. Procurement, human resources, technological development, and company infrastructure are the four categories.
Five major activities — incoming operations, operations, outward logistics, marketing and sales, and service — and four secondary activities — procurement and purchasing, human resource management, technical development, and firm infrastructure — make up the value chain framework.
