Communication is a key aspect to be considered before an organization decides to make contact with their stakeholders with the aim of influencing them. It is important for the organization to find out more about its stakeholders in order to understand them. Sharing of information is a two way traffic ,the organization communicates and the stakeholders give feedback.

Making often and early consultations

This is important as it aims at communicating the way forward of the organization and give the stakeholders a chance to give their input about the project. It allows the organization to negotiate and come to an agreement with the stakeholders on the mode of operation since risks, purpose and approach are discussed and agreed upon.

Planning

Before an organization approaches a stakeholder ,it is important to plan the way to approach the stakeholders by choosing the best time, means and way of engaging with the stakeholders.

Compromising with the stakeholders

In a case where the stakeholders are of high value to the organization ,it is sometimes important to give the interest of the stakeholders priority if it stands to benefit the organization in the long run.

Taking responsibility

Stakeholders engagement is a wholesome process that involves each and every member of the organization .It is important for everyone both the organization and the stakeholders to know their responsibilities.
