Because of the widespread of dependent workers who are not protected in the country, the employment-related issues and trends arise in the following ways:

1 Lack of compliance to the existing legislation and policies as well as enforcement, for instance, failure to comply have caused an imbalance in the employment sector and increased competition

2 Lack of proper interpretation of law surrounding employment sector, this is one of the challenges in the market that influence unfair treatments due to narrow interpretation of the law

3 Employment rights and relationships are unclear because there is no clear definition of who the employers are; this results in employment issues that do not have legal protection or defense

4 Ignorance of employee rights is the leading trend in legal perspectives of the labor market concerning workers from developing countries. For example, most contractors do not consider legal establishments that protect the rights of an individual worker in terms of wage and insurance.

5 There is no precise formulation of the employment laws that address both the employer and employee in this type of labor market; for instance, there is no law the protects employers or employees against damages or defines the employer’s role in protecting employee rights.

6. Brain drain is another trending issue of concern as many South Pacific Courtiers struggle to produce people with skills and knowledge in different feels, but they end working for developed countries. This affects the quality of the labor market in the country
