4.Poor labour market outcomes have caused high migration rates in PICs in search of better opportunities abroad.

5.Public employment services in regions such as Papua New Guinea and Fiji are often basic and sometimes ineffective thus causing limited job placement and other challenges in government-run employment services.

A policy that can help alleviate these employment-related issues in the Pacific Island countries is addressing inequalities and strengthening labour market institutions in all regions.
