The most suitable basic layout for the jean manufacturing facility is  Product or Line layout. In product or line layout , the machines and equipments are arranged in one line depending upon the sequence of operations required for the product. The raw materials and semi-finished materials move from one workstation to another sequentially without any backtracking or deviation. This will the jean production to move from raw materials machine, to ensuring size is okay, and all linings are in order towards the last stage of ensuring the zip and button are fixed. The textile materials are fed into the first machine and finished goods travel automatically from machine to machine, the output of one machine becoming input of the next. It directs the flow of materials and work-in-process from start till its completion and integrates material handling and equipment which makes it suitable for jean production.
