In essence, projects have an expectation of succeeding, however, many projects fail owing to certain reasons. The associated reasons for the failure of projects to deliver benefit flows to the beneficiaries include; lack of proper preparation, inadequate documentation and tracking through control systems, poor leadership, failure to define parameters and enforce them, inexperienced project managers who have little prior knowledge and expertise to manage projects, inaccurate cost estimates which make projects to be short of funds, little communication at every level of management, poor organizational culture or ethical misalignment.
