When having a project decision making and assigning various duties is not enough. The project manager is required to monitor various project to determine whether they are running smoothly. Therefore, project monitoring can be defined as a tool that provides understanding of various projects that are in progress by identifying constraints and facilitating good decision making.

Project evaluation can be defined as process of collecting and analyzing data for a project. In this case a project manager needs to evaluate the information given to successfully completes the project.

Project controls entail the overall performance of a project; for instance, monitoring, planning, cost, management, forecasting, and progress. The completion of a project depends on proper planning or control.
