Significance of Information Systems
IS has great significance for business organizations. When lower-level workers are given a chance to engage in decision-making and deliver crucial information to the senior managers to supervise others, it reduces organizational levels. According to researchers, MIS is essential in improving decision-making within a company or firm. It is a user machine that aids in delivering information that supports operations run tasks, and aids in managing other tasks within different levels of an organization. Therefore, MIS is an important tool in acquiring management aims, visions, and goals. It achieves these by delivering relevant and reliable data collected from consumers. For example, the Ethiopian banking industry is within the information system revolution (SHEGAYE, 2018). The availability of MIS in this sector helps the manager in making decisions.
