Answer to Question #214674 in Management for Jasson

Question #214674

Question

The environmental standards of ISO 14000 deal with how a company manages the environment inside its facilities and the immediate outside environment. However, the standards also call for analysis of the entire life cycle of a product, starting from raw material to eventual disposal. These standards do not mandate a particular level of pollution, but focus on awareness of the processes and procedures that can affect the environment. It should be noted that adherence to the ISO 14000 standards does not, in any way, release a company from any national or local regulations related to specific environmental performance issues. As a Production manager, what Guidelines you should use for the goals a company should adapt for Ethical and Environmentally Friendly Designs?

We all share this world, and caring for it means caring for ourselves. Most of us also believe that we have a moral obligation to avoid causing needless harm to the environment. Customers are increasingly requesting products and services that can help them decrease their environmental footprint as worldwide awareness of the difficulties we face continues to rise. It makes us feel good to be able to live in accordance with our conscience, and it adds value when products allow environmentally conscious consumers to do so. People are willing to pay a premium for ethical products because they desire to make moral decisions in general. Environmentally friendly design encourages practices that are more efficient and can save money in the long term. Maximizing resources, avoiding waste, and utilizing reused materials may need a little more finesse in execution, but all of these factors lead to a more efficient manufacturing process.

As a production manager, I will design for environmental processing and manufacturing in order to create designs that are ethical and environmentally friendly. I'll look at how the raw materials used to make the invention's many components are harvested, processed, and manufactured. The final product's environment will be heavily influenced by whether and how they are mined, drilled, or grown and harvested. In addition, I will create designs that are environmentally friendly in terms of packing, disposal, and energy usage. The goal is to save as much energy as possible during the product's life cycle. The most common illustration of this idea in operation is energy-efficient light bulbs.
