Deming claimed that full definition can only be given by the customers who are the users of the products. Quality can change meaning according to the consumers needs and the managers must ensure they understand their dimensions. To achieve quality the products and services provided must be able to pay the price.

According Juran quality is the fitness of usage, he emphasis on the products features and being free from deficiencies. He defined products as outputs of a process which are designed to satisfy the customers needs.

Crosby advocated on prevention to achieve quality products and services. He proposed on doing the right thing first time and every time. Everyone in the organization should be focused to ensure that the products has zero defects.

Taguchi define quality as being as per the customers specifications with zero defects to achieve satisfaction. He proposed that quality should be evaluated in terms of time taken to encounter loss from a product from the time it was manufactured. The loss is calculated in terms of time taken for rework and the waste of resources used to communicate the complains to the manufacturer.
