A formal organization refer to the official structure of positions or posts into which are divided the total of the activities necessary to realize any purpose calling for the combined action of a number of persons.

The objectives of distinct departments and units can be determined with the use of formal 

organization.

It aids in the achievement of organizational goals by ensuring that diverse departments' objectives are met.

It clearly describes the organization's goals and the people's authority-responsibility connections.

The division of labor allows the organization to build an effective communication system.

It gives the company a sense of security.

Therefore to some extent ,organizations need to be absolutely formal.
