I disagree with the statement organization should be absolutely formal. Formal and informal organization structure has to be aligned for the organization to work efficiently. Formal organization is a structure created by the top management to fulfill the organization's objectives. Informal organization is a structure that comprises of the organization's members that satisfies social and psychological need. It is a system of social relationship on how the members of the organization can interact and associate with each other. Therefore, it is rare to find an organization that is absolutely formal. Every organization is defined by the activities they perform day in day out. Achieving the organization's objectives and goals is the duty of every organization's member from top to bottom management.
Therefore, formal and informal structures of an organization has to aligned in an organization.
