Discuss the assertion that management is both a science and an art.
Management is a science because it has various principles that are acceptable in the universe while on the other side it is also an art because it requires perfection through continuous practice, knowledge and the application of creativity skills obtained through work experiences. For organizations to solve difficult circumstances, artistic use of management know-how is required. Managing is defined as doing things creatively while taking into account the reality of a situation. Human talents cannot exist in isolation; they must be combined with conceptual and technical abilities. As a result, theoretical management knowledge is insufficient and irrelevant for issue solutions. A manager acquires experience by using management knowledge and confronting new situations on a regular basis. A manager develops abilities for turning information into practice by addressing numerous challenges. Science students are good in the act of management of businesses because they have the skills to analyze and solve problems. Managers need to come up with strategic plans that will assist in development and operations of the organization.
