Product-oriented missions concentrate on what items or services to provide rather than what solutions to give for consumers, whereas customer-oriented missions explain the company's aim in terms of satisfying consumer needs or offering solutions for them. Customer-oriented missions are therefore chosen over product-oriented objectives because they offer more flexibility and can be easily modified to changing circumstances.
