Colleen is the HR director at a sport centre. She found, there is an employee who has a troubling habit of being "touchy" in the workplace. Whenever, this person is standing next to someone, she likes to touch the persons's arm, hand, or shoulder. Other than this habit, she is an outstanding worker. What advice would you give Colleen?
Colleen should request the employee for a talk. During the talk, she should address the behavior. She should let the employee know how that behavior is affecting him/herself and the colleagues. Colleen should also tell the employee how to do things differently, to avoid this behavior which is not pleasing to everyone.
However, Colleen should appreciate the employee for their outstanding work and motivate her to work better.
