Communication denotes the process by which data is conveyed and understood among two or more persons. What initially made the communication to be effective at Silver Lines was interpersonal communication. There was effective interpersonal communication that enabled a message to move across from the sender to receiver. Regarding this, the use of face-to-face conversations enhanced effective communication. Thus, the process required the sender and the receiver to be energetically involved in the discussion.
The use of Skype is a synchronous form of communication. It is real-time-based communication that entails face-to-face conferences among persons. The use of Skype at Silver Lines enhanced effective communication between the management and staff through o provide instant feedback to each other, emotionally bonding one another spontaneously.
The management team should have replaced interpersonal and face-to-face forms of communication with virtual communication. The process calls for a re-definition of the company’s objectives, goals, mission, and vision. Besides, there is a need to appoint an individual for collecting minutes on the themes discussed during the Skype meetings, and to email the minutes to all management team members. Thus, embracing such a platform offers the employees chances to ask queries and engage with the entire management hence offering a sense of significance between management and staff.
