Business processes are steps carried out by a group or an organization to achieve a particular goal. Among the processes include support and primary processes.

Support processes in an organization are the processes whose sole mandate is to ensure the functioning of core processes and the company's running. Support processes, like Human Resource Management, Procurement, and Sourcing, Financial Management processes, among others, differ in nature depending on the size of the company (Dumas et al., 2018). Support processes in larger companies are usually more complex and complicated because more people are involved, and the organizational structure is more extended. In contrast, in small companies, one individual can take responsibility for a particular support process or activity.

On the other hand, primary processes are the processes in an organization that provide direct value to the clients or customers through product and service delivery. Primary processes are considered the most critical processes in an organization and entail operations like production, marketing, and sales (Dumas et al., 2018). Moreover, primary processes have direct contact with customers, reach or exceed the organization's standards, and always consider the entire value chain.

Therefore, the business processes primary and support processes are fundamental in achieving the organization's goals.
