You are assigned to provide physical security recommendations for the Security Operations Center (SOC). Please answer the following:
1. A Mantrap has been installed at the SOC entrance. There are two doors, one from the hallway into the trap (Hallway door), and one from the trap to the SOC (SOC door). In case of power or computer failure, which door should fail "open" or unlocked in both directions and why?
2. Are video cameras a Preventive security control, a Detective security control or both, and why?
3. What is an example of a situation where an employee would feel they are under duress.
1 When there is power or computer failure, the door to the SOC should fail open because it is going to make it easier for operations meant to mitigate the situation.
2 Video cameras are both preventive and detective security control because they both help to prevent crime and are useful when conducting investigation.
3 Employees would feel they are under duress when subjected to a working condition where they are closely monitored using cameras.
