a) Your friend is faced with a situation in which there is a difficulty in choosing between what he/she is being asked to do and what is consistent with appropriate ethical behavior. With concrete examples, examine any four steps he/she needs to go through in order to make the right ethical decisions.
b) To what extent do you think that the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 may have a severe psycho-economical effect on employees who had lost their jobs as the result of the pandemic?
c) Although Professional Ethics is a sub-set of Ethics, they are different in nature. Examine any two points of difference between Professional Ethics and Ethics in general.
It should be noted that ethical action is the result of four psychological processes that need to be undertaken: (1) moral sensitivity-this requires recognition, (2) moral judgment-it requires reasoning, (3) moral focus- which entails motivation, and (4) moral character-finally the action is embraced.
The covid-19 pandemic has led to severe psycho-economic effects on the populace. People are distressed and full of anxieties that lead to cases of depression. The situation becomes worse with economic hardships since the majority do not work or get access to any means of earning a living.
Personal ethics denotes the ethics that an individual identifies with in respect to situations and people they deal with in ordinary life. Professional ethics entails the ethics that an individual ought to adhere to in respect of their business and interactions in line with dealings in their skilled life.
