In not more than 400 words, make a post on what the role the government of Ghana should play in achieving SDG 4
Sustainable Development Goal 4
Sustainable Development Goal 4 is a goal of education that aims at ensuring inclusivity and equity in the quality of education as well as lasting opportunities for learning for all. The government plays an important role in the achievement of development goals as well as targets (Kumi, 2020). They can do this through collaborative efforts with private sectors civil society, academia together with philanthropic institutions. The same philanthropic institutions are the solutions to financing the SDG. It has spearheaded in delivering and influencing the SDG since it is perceived for its financial independence and to take risks as well as its ability for experimentation.
The Ghanaian government should become more responsive towards multi-stakeholder engagement in the achievement of SDG (Fenny, 2018). The government should fulfill its promise on the creation of an economic environment and a legislative environment for the blossoming of philanthropy as well as promoting a new era in giving in the country. In so doing, the government of Ghana will give ease to organizations and individuals to readily support the civil society and the SDG. The Ghanaian government should promote the study of philanthropy since it is very scarce to promote the Sustainable Development Goal (Webb, 2017). This will increase sustained empirical studies mainly on the potential role governing philanthropy, which is the backbone of SDG. Payton’s and Moody’s definition of philanthropy opens an inner eye which is a guide to philanthropy study to enable a better understanding of Sustainable Development Goal 4 in education. This will increase the emerging literature in the Ghanaian government.
